The Financial Dashboard Developer will assist the Fiscal Operations team at Wharton Finance & Administration with automating and streamlining the reporting process. Job Description
The Financial Dashboard Developer reports directly to the Associate Director, Fiscal Operations.
The Financial Dashboard Developer will assist the Fiscal Operations team at Wharton Finance & Administration with automating and streamlining the reporting process.
In this role, candidates should have a background in data and business analysis. Candidates should be analytical and an excellent communicator.
The developer's tasks will require the technical tools and Data Visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, R and develop, design, build, and maintain reporting packages that meets the needs of the various centralized departments and centers under the oversight of the Fiscal Operations team while executing queries based upon those department and centers.
The position will take raw data and use technical applications to gather insights in order to present, visualize and report on trends, actual vs budget and assist with annual projections multi-year projections.
Ultimately, the chosen candidate will enhance our business intelligence system to help us make better decisions.

Responsibilities
Translate business needs to technical specifications
Ability to read and understand financial reports
Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau)
Create tools to store data
Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
Develop and update technical documentation
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as a BI Developer
Industry experience is preferred
Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)
Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
