Job Description Summary

The Office of Information Security establishes, implements and maintains security programs to assist management in the protection of computing resources and associated information assets against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure. https://www.isc.upenn.edu/security/overview

As a member of the Security Operations Center (SOC) team the Senior IT Security Analyst act as a consultant to Penn's distributed IT departments on all aspects of information security. Plan, design, enforce, and audit security policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity of and access to Penn's IT systems.

Job Description

As a member of the Office of Information Security, Security Operations Center, this role is expected to:
  • Act as a consultant to Penn's distributed IT departments on all aspects of information security.
  • Plan, design, enforce, and audit security policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity of and access to Penn's IT systems.
  • Proactively identify security threats to Penn's IT systems.
  • Recommend mitigation strategies and assist in their implementation.
  • Maintain knowledge of changing information security threats and technologies.
  • Manage security improvement projects. Investigate security incidents and maintain incident tracking records.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field and a minimum of three years of IT security work or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical expertise in security systems administration and the development and implementation of new security tools. A solid understanding of TCP/IP, computer forensics and investigative methodology. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and project management skills and the ability to deal confidentially with people at all levels of the organization. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team and effectively collaborate with others.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
