A full-time clinical lecturer position with a farm-animal focus is available in Field Service in the Department of Clinical Studies - New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine. The Field Service section provides services to a broad base of clients, including large and small dairies, beef cattle operations (mainly cow/calf), specialty niche farms, and small ruminant animals/operations.

This position is best suited for a clinically minded and academic veterinarian who works with multiple production-animal species to provide preventative and routine medicine/surgery services on-farm. We are seeking a candidate with interest in practicing up-to-date medicine, a passion for teaching, and a desire for continual professional improvement. The successful candidate will contribute meaningfully to the missions of the Field Service Section by:
  • Teaching in the preclinical and clinical professional curriculum;
  • Providing clinical services to multiple types of production and niche farm clients;
  • Interacting with the animal‐owning public, referring veterinarians, students, commodity groups, hospital in-house faculty, and animal health and productivity faculty;
  • Sharing after-hours on-call with other faculty and house officers;
  • Participating in intern, resident and graduate student training;
  • Participating as available in clinical / production- based research, and;
  • Participating in faculty governance by serving on committees and task forces.
