The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of wet-bench focus on lung biology including, but not limited to, lung development, epithelial cell biology, fibrotic lung remodeling, airways biology, thoracic oncology, and / or pulmonary vascular biology. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates should be board certified/eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching within the Perelman School of Medicine as well as participation as an active member in Penn graduate programs based on his/her research focus.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing patient care in the outpatient clinics and as an attending on the inpatient service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from government agencies, private foundations and industry.

Applicants should have appropriate post-graduate clinical training in pulmonary and critical care and demonstrate a productive track record during post-doctoral research training with an ability to perform collaborative interdisciplinary science.
