The University of Utah seeks an innovative and visionary individual committed to promoting and fostering excellence in teaching, research, professional practice, service, and equity as its next Dean of the College of Health.

The College of Health, one of the largest at the University of Utah, is a vital component of University of Utah Health. The College is comprised of the Departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders; Health and Kinesiology; Nutrition and Integrative Physiology; Occupational and Recreational Therapies; Parks, Recreation and Tourism; Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. The College currently serves over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Its educational paths include 18 bachelor's degree emphases, 16 master's degree programs, three clinical doctorates, and five Ph.D. programs. Its programs in physical activity and experiential learning to explore the best of Utah's outdoors serve an additional 6,000 students from across the University. As a part of the Health Sciences Center, the College maintains collaborative partnerships with the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, the Colleges of Pharmacy and Nursing, and the Eccles Health Sciences Library to achieve an integration of research, teaching, clinical practice, and service.

The Dean, as chief academic officer, will provide leadership and overall direction to the educational, research, and clinical initiatives of the College. The Dean will also oversee the equity, diversity and inclusion efforts of the faculty and staff, and will ensure that the College of Health continues to lead our institution in EDI outcomes. The Dean will be the external face of the College, advocating on its behalf and developing relationships across the University and beyond. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences, the Dean, College of Health will work closely and collaboratively with the other College Deans and members of the executive administration of University of Utah Health to leverage opportunities afforded by the College of Health to support the growth and quality of the Health Sciences Center.

The College seeks a visionary and dynamic leader with a demonstrated record of program development, financial management, sustained scholarship, equity, diversity and inclusion leadership and a track record of interdisciplinary team building. Candidates must have a terminal degree in an area consistent with the academic makeup of the College, a significant understanding of the fields included within the College, and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of tenured full professor. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and the ability to effectively partner with a broad range of internal and external constituents.
