Job Description Summary
The Facility and Event Manager provides support to Athletic Operations. Penn Campus Recreation, and Penn Racquet Sports. This position will primarily work night and weekend shifts supervising evening programming and facilities and supporting any athletic or business development event operation needs. This position will take direction from multiple supervisors; the Assistant Director of Athletic Operations, the Coordinator of Facility Operations (Rec), and the Assistant Manager of Racquet Sports.

Job Description

  • Provide area facility supervision of Franklin Field, Hecht Tennis Center, the Palestra, Penn Squash Center, Penn Park, River Fields Complex, & the Tse Sports Center.
  • Serve as primary or secondary event manager of home athletic and business development events as assigned.
  • Perform customer & membership service duties for Penn Racquet Sports & Penn Campus Recreation
  • Manage setup & breakdown of all home athletic competitions or business development events.
  • Oversee evening & weekend programming and work study staff in assigned areas.
  • Perform Operations administrative work as assigned by Assistant Director of Operations.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree candidate in Sports Management, Recreation, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a collegiate athletics & recreation department desired, preferably in event operations or customer service.
  • Must possess strong oral communication skills and be self-motivated to accomplish tasks on your own. Managerial experience strongly considered.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Pay: $15/hour, 20-30 hours/week
