Job Description Summary
The School of Social Policy & Practice seeks a professional higher education program coordinator to join the Nonprofit Leadership Online Master's Degree Program. The coordinator will work directly with members of the School's standing and instructional faculty to support online course development, work with the Faculty Director and Administrative Director on recruitment and admissions, advise Online Nonprofit Leadership Master's students, and support students in the Nonprofit Leadership Practicum. This includes assisting in the day-to-day activities of the NPL Online Program and working closely with the program's Administrative Director on program needs, providing resources to students and faculty, and assisting with expansion of the program's reach within Penn and beyond.

* All SP2 staff are required to participate in convocation and graduation ceremonies as needed.

Job Description

Provide administrative/instructional support for faculty and instructional staff for online courses, including supporting course management in LMS, Canvas, to monitor online discussions and assignments to support students, faculty, and teaching assistants. Coordinate, develop, and evaluate NPL online courses with faculty and instructors, establish learning objectives and outcomes, recommend appropriate course content and assignments, recruit course assistants and instructors for appropriate courses as required, work with finance on hiring and onboarding part-time lecturers and course assistants.

Advise Online Nonprofit Leadership Program students with the support of the NPL staff including meeting with students for course selection, career development, academic support, alumni support, and any issues that arise.

Provide support for the Administrative Director, NPL, for recruitment and admissions including marketing plan development; alumni relations; video, photographic, and copy advertising design and implementation; recruitment event planning and staffing both online and in-person; and admissions committee participation through reviewing, interviewing, and recommending applicants for admission.

Support the on-campus NPL coordinator and Administrative Director in Nonprofit Leadership Practicum placements including the placement process, reflection meetings, mid-term and final evaluations; recruitment of mentors; and maintenance of relationships with current mentors.

Plan and manage deadlines, documentation, and other critical elements to make sure distance-based NPL online projects are completed on schedule including new student orientation, cohort building events, alumni events, regional student events, and graduation.

Perform additional duties as assigned, including participation in convocation and graduation ceremonies as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education program coordination, especially instructional design and online course development, instructional technology for academia, or a related training capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Master's degree preferred.
