Position Focus:
Reporting to the Senior Director, IT Shared Services, with overall responsibility for Organizational Change Management in support of a wide variety of project delivery, service introduction, and organizational changes within Yale University.

This position will play a key role in ensuring change initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. The individual in this role will advance the practice of Organizational Change Management (OCM) as it applies to all change activities across the university and serve as an advisor to myriad projects with an OCM foot print, participating in large projects to ensure the appropriate organizational change management tools and approaches are considered and used. The Director will be a key partner as the University builds out and matures an Operations Portfolio Management Office, supporting strategic initiatives prioritized by senior leadership, and supporting cross-functional, collaborative ways of working across HR, Finance, ITS, and Academic Business Offices. Collaborating with key executive sponsors, business stakeholders, and staff to ensure changes to the organization, staff and business processes are identified and addressed as needed is a key element of this role.

The Director manages, mentors, and leads a team of regular full-time and contractor staff, guiding them to work effectively with project managers to structure and integrate OCM plan deliverables for multiple phases of complex project, identify and deploy resources, assign work, ensure quality of work, ensure engagement deliverables meet expectations. The individual will have well-developed understanding of adult learning principles in the management of training development and delivery.

Essential Duties:
1. Assists in formulating long-term goals to provide for the development and direction of the area of responsibility, ensuring conformity and uniformity with University policies. 2. Directs new systems development and modification of existing systems. 3. Evaluates user needs and implements systems and solutions to best service the community. 4. Consults with users to diagnose and resolve complex problems. 5. Serves as a liaison between area of responsibility and other areas to serve University goals. 6. Develops troubleshooting and problem resolution programs to ensure a high level of service and efficiency. 7. Directs a staff of non-exempt and exempt employees. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in a related field and ten years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Comprehensive analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Comprehensive interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Comfort with ambiguity; ability to utilize influencing skills to move others toward a common goal.

Expert ability to run meetings with senior leaders/ stakeholders.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Proven expertise with systems analysis methods and techniques. Thorough understanding of change management models such as ADKAR and experience implementing best-in-class change management processes.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Proven ability to manage multiple/complex projects, meeting deadlines and budget. Proven project management skills and track record of delivery. Results-oriented and highly effective at coordination, execution, and follow-up on critical priorities to drive results.
