Point Park University, in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks an insightful, strategic, and compassionate leader to serve as Vice President for Human Resources (VPHR). Guided by the vision of President Don Green, Point Park endeavors to be a leading employer of choice for the region. The University seeks a senior-level leader with a track record of implementing a strategic vision for the modern human resources department and a deep appreciation for the value of higher education. The VPHR will continue the progress Point Park has made in evolving its processes and policies, as well as prepare the community for the future of work and wellness in a post-pandemic world. They must be a conversant learner and demonstrated leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion issues and will be a critical partner in ensuring that the Point Park community is one in which all are welcome and can thrive.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Operations, the Vice President for Human Resources, is a member of the President's executive team and subject matter expert in all facets of human resources. The VPHR is responsible for supporting the University’s mission and strategic plan; ensuring compliance with all applicable human resources laws, regulations, and policies; establishing human resources best practices; and creating a human resources organization that provides excellence in consultative, strategic, and operational expertise across the University. The VPHR manages a budget of $12 million and leads a division of seven.

The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in a related field, and/or have comparable professional experience, as well as hold relevant professional certifications. Candidates from either inside or outside of higher education are welcomed, and experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
