Lecturer in Discipline or Senior Lecturer in Discipline in Wealth Management

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Columbia University invites applications for full-time positions at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline or Senior Lecturer in Discipline to teach in the Wealth Management MS Program. This position will begin on January 1, or July 1, 2018. This is a full-time appointment with multi-year renewal contingent on successful review.
 

 

Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Discipline will teach courses related to wealth management in one or more of the following areas: investment planning, tax and estate planning, retirement and insurance, psychology of investment decisions, client relationship management, portfolio management, financial risk management, and quantitative methods in financial analysis.

 

Successful candidates may be asked to serve in an administrative capacity for the MS program.  Responsibilities include leading programmatic and curricular development efforts, professional development opportunities for students, and strategic planning for the program, such as marketing, enrollment, student life, and alumni affairs.

 

Successful candidates will exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, instructional design, and professional practice and/or scholarship. 
 

Ideal candidates will have significant wealth management experience and hold a PhD or Master's degree in wealth management, finance, economics, business, or another area related to wealth management or hold a designation of CFA, FSA, or CFP.

 

Candidates at the rank of Senior Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have substantial experience and accomplishments, and a superlative record of teaching as a lecturer, and documented evidence of excellence in carrying out administrative or other department responsibilities.
 

Candidates at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have teaching experience, documented evidence of excellence, and evidence of professional growth and activity in the given field.
