The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery or eligible for such certification.

Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic instruction of fellows, residents and medical students rotating on the GI Surgery service.

Clinical responsibilities may include in- and out-patient clinical care of general and gastrointestinal surgery patients.

Administrative responsibilities involve serving as Section Chief of GI Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital, the nation's oldest hospital and a full member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Preference will be given to candidates possessing fellowship training and to those with several years post-training experience.
