Job Description Summary
An active, enthusiastic, and responsible counselors who love all things sport and adventure to work as Campus Recreation Adventure Summer Camp Counselors this July.

Previous childcare, camp experience, education major/ experience are preferred. The camp will operate three weeks out of July from the 11th-15th, 18th-22nd and July 25th-29th.

All applicants must Hold current certification in CPR and First Aid (department will provide training prior to the start of camp.) and be able to provide FBI/Criminal Background Check. PA Child Abuse and PACH Clearances will be issued through University.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the health and safety of all campers and fellow counselors. Follow the activity schedule as developed by the administrative staff unless given permission to deviate and the discipline guidelines established in the staff manual and at staff training.
  • Conduct and participate in all camp activities. Adhere to the counselor age-group assignments unless otherwise instructed.
  • Distribute daily snacks and drinks as needed throughout the day. Responsible for assuring ample water is available for campers at all times and return all drink containers when assigned. Help coordinate pick up and drop off.
  • Communicate all frustrations and problems and incidents to the administrative staff on a daily basis. Complete all appropriate forms when needed. Communicate to campers and parents in a positive manner.

Qualifications:
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Lead group of campers through daily activities.
  • Ability to participate and lead camp activities (adventure, sports, swim)
  • Willingness to work with children ages 6-12 in a recreational camp setting.
  • Act as role model and exhibit behaviors that promote teamwork, flexibility, resilience, sportsmanship, community building and camper growth.
  • Interact with each other, campers, and parents in a way that reflects the camp and Department.
