The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks to identify candidates for the position of Chief of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medical Director of the Jordan Center for Gynecologic Cancers.

Applicants for the position must qualify for a faculty appointment as an Associate Professor or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Gynecologic Oncology and should have demonstrated outstanding qualifications in education, research and clinical care.

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative academic leader to lead a division of 10 physicians and physician scientists and who exhibits administrative skills, with strong experience in sponsoring others. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in the practice of gynecologic oncology, leadership and research and will have exhibited a strong track record of fostering collaboration. The position includes leadership of clinical services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Penn owned or affiliated hospitals throughout the Delaware Valley and also involves oversight of a large basic research program which includes the Penn Ovarian Cancer Research Center (OCRC; a Translational Center of Excellence which participates in a SPORE in ovarian cancer research with Johns Hopkins), a clinical research program running investigator-initiated, industry and NRG cooperative group trials and a very active Section of Population Science research.

The Division has an ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology with six fellows (2/year) and participates in an active training program for 32 Ob/Gyn residents. Teaching responsibilities may include instructing and supervising medical students, residents and fellows, and participating in a formal didactic curriculum.

Clinical responsibilities may include out-patient consultations for women with gynecologic cancers as well as in-patient consultation and operative care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, Chester County Hospital and Penn Medicine satellite practice sites.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include basic, translational, clinical and/or health policy research. Collaborative science is highly valued. Applicants should have an established research program and an outstanding record of research funding and publications.
