The Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Otology/Neurotology. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Fellowship training in Neurotology is highly preferred. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Otolaryngology. Candidates will be expected to be the clinical lead of the Genetics of Adult Hearing Loss Program in conjunction with collaborators in the Department of Genetics. Additional training in molecular biology and/ or genetics is preferred.

Teaching responsibilities may include medical student, resident and fellowship education.

Clinical responsibilities may include the medical and surgical treatment of patients with ear and skull base disorders. The candidate will help to lead our Center for Adult Onset Hearing Loss and actively interact with our Centers for Implantable Hearing Devices, Balance, and Skull Base Surgery.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include focusing on the basic and translational science of adult-onset, genetically-mediated hearing loss. The candidate will interact with our strong, existing faculty in this regard.
