SCAD Savannah seeks a full-time professor of animation to join its faculty of dedicated design professionals.

Just as you may have marveled at the artistry possible with Legos or Sculpey, you will use your enthusiasm for modeling and look development to instruct the designers of the future. You will lead a full course load (four classes) each quarter. You will use your expertise to help develop and maintain an animation curriculum for the department’s B.F.A., M.A., and M.F.A. degrees. You will also plan, prepare, and follow an approved course of study with measurable goals and outcomes for each of your courses.

As a professor, you will maintain regular on-campus office hours and provide academic advisement to assigned students, including assisting in class registration and reviewing/approving student schedules using online registration software. You will also play an active role in the success of the department, often participating in committee assignments, student advancement reviews, department openings, senior reception, commencement, and SCAD Days, among other activities.

The successful candidate should stay current in his or her areas of expertise and has a strong portfolio of modeling and look development work. The candidate should also have a portfolio of current or past students’ work. Experience with relevant software, including Maya, Zbrush, Mari, Substance Painter, Paint3D, Adobe Photoshop, Marvelous Designer, Marmoset, and Xgen, is essential, as is knowledge of CFX and lighting. Using exceptional verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills, the candidate can collaborate effectively and comfortably with all stakeholders, including administration, faculty, and students. The candidate should also possess strong organizational skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
