Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
Salve Regina University seeks a proven academic leader for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. As chief academic officer, the Provost is administratively responsible for all academic departments and programs, and serves as a key member of the University’s senior administrative team led by Salve Regina’s president, Sister Jane Gerety, Ph.D. The new Provost/VPAA will assume office on or around July 1, 2018.
Located on a picturesque campus in the historic city of Newport, Rhode Island, Salve Regina University is a Catholic coeducational university founded by the Sisters of Mercy. The institution offers a comprehensive education with a liberal arts foundation that fosters the development of each student’s individual talents. A core curriculum engages the whole student and extends from the classroom into a global community with a strong ethical basis and an emphasis on service. Close ties between faculty and students and a commitment to teaching excellence combine to bring out the potential in every student.
The University serves approximately 2,760 men and women from 39 states and 22 foreign countries and boasts more than 20,000 alumni. Undergraduate enrollment is 2,161 students, while graduate enrollment stands at 599. The University awards BA, BS and BAS degrees in over 45 majors and concentrations. For graduate students the University offers MA, MS and MBA degrees, a Ph.D. in humanities and a doctorate in nursing practice, as well as a variety of certificate programs. Continuing education courses are offered at the University’s Center for Adult Education in Warwick, R.I.
