SCAD seeks a Professor of Cinema Studies for its Savannah location to provide students with the expertise needed to investigate and explain the complex relationships between context, culture, and film. SCAD students navigate historical and contemporary film through critical analysis of the earliest cinematic breakthroughs and social transformations during the past century to the revolution of today’s cinematic experiences. In cinema studies coursework, students gain a curiosity for creative inquiry, critical thinking, and visual analysis. These skills propel undergraduate students into major-specific disciplines while graduate students prepare for robust careers as critics, reviewers, journalists, artists, and entrepreneurs. In addition to other duties and responsibilities required in the faculty handbook and the employment agreement, a professor teaches courses/contact hours as determined by their credentials, college needs, and a signed employment agreement.
