SCAD Savannah seeks a full-time professor of sound design to join the university’s prestigious faculty and to help students realize their dreams in this creative field.
 
Whether recording audio in leading-edge studios or in the field, SCAD sound design students amass technical expertise and refine their artistic style. Under the guidance of Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning faculty members, students design sound for animation, games, film, television, theater, and more while also learning professional aesthetics and theory.
 
In this position, you will instruct students in basic Avid Pro Tools techniques and production audio for film and television; conduct thorough, thoughtful, and fair faculty evaluations, class observations, and individual meetings; and reinforce faculty members’ strengths while outlining areas of needed improvement with suggested strategies. Among other duties, you will also lead introductory courses in audio fundamentals and the theory of sound and image.


The successful candidate has experience teaching at the collegiate level and/or professional production audio experience including location mixing and field SFX. A background in music production is preferred. The candidate’s experience must emphasize sound work or related disciplines.

  • Master’s or terminal degree in a relevant field OR equivalent professional experience in sound design, film, and video
