Professor of Practice (Data Science)

Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies (The iSchool, see http://ischool.syr.edu) is soliciting applications from professionals in data science to join its renowned and interdisciplinary faculty. This position is open to professionals who can serve as a Professor of Practice. The successful candidate will join our “Faculty of One” in a highly collegial environment that stresses collaboration.

 

We seek colleagues who can provide a strong contribution to teaching data science and who can also deepen and extend our strengths in information management. We see data science as a broad area that includes data analytics, visualization, and data management.  Data scientists are crucial to solving big data problems in areas as diverse as clinical research, defense intelligence, customer behavior, medical diagnosis, and risk management.  The iSchool currently offers an MS in Applied Data Science, an MS in Enterprise Data Systems, Certificate of Advanced Study in Data Science, and minor in data analytics.
