Dean of the School of Management

Nazareth College, a coeducational, private, religiously independent institution,  seeks an experienced and talented academic administrator to replace the retiring Dean of the School of Management.  The new Dean will join the Academic Leadership Team of Dr. Andrea Talentino, Vice President for Academic Affairs. The School of Management offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees and is served by approximately 12  full time faculty, and 27 lecturers and staff.  The new Dean is expected to begin as early as July 1, 2018.

Located seven miles from Rochester, New York, Nazareth College serves approximately 2,160 undergraduate students and over 700 graduate students, and offers a dynamic learning community that educates students in the liberal arts, sciences, visual and performing arts, and professional fields.  The College’s charming wooded campus is situated on 150 acres in Pittsford, New York, and the surrounding community offers an affordable cost-of-living and easy access to the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes region and to the bustling arts and culture district in nearby downtown Rochester.

The Rochester region’s business environment has a storied past and an optimistic future.  Iconic successes such as Eastman Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, and other blue-chip firms have laid the talent foundation for emerging and new product and service providers.  Rochester is currently home to global leaders in the food and beverage industries such as Wegmans, Constellation Brands, and many others in the global sourcing of food and beverages; home to well-recognized service providers such as Paychex, Dixon Schwabl; and home to 100s of other entrepreneurially-minded organizations that leverage the region’s abundant talent pool.

Nazareth College is seeking a Dean of the School of Management who will partner with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Deans of the other Schools and the College faculty in implementing the strategic vision of the College. The Dean will have had significant experience as an academic administrator preferably at the level of Assistant or Associate Dean, Department Chair or an equivalent Directorship. The Dean will have a Ph.D. and qualify for the appointment at the rank of Professor.

The mission of the School of Management is to develop value-centered leaders who become engaged contributors to their professions, organizations and communities. This is accomplished through learner-centered programs that are experiential, global, ethical and entrepreneurial in orientation.
