The Board of Trustees of the University of Mount Olive (UMO) invites applications for the position of President to take office on July 1, 2018.

 

UMO is a private liberal arts institution located in Mount Olive, North Carolina, sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. UMO’s major focus is to serve students and communities in North Carolina by providing quality educational opportunities enriched by the values of the founding church. There is strong emphasis on personalized, values-based learning within the liberal arts tradition that has put the University on the map as one of the leading private colleges in North Carolina for more than half a century.

 

In addition to the Mount Olive campus, which also includes Evening College, the University offers adult education and online classes at several locations in North Carolina. In its traditional baccalaureate program, it offers over 40 different majors. Among the most popular traditional student majors are agriculture production systems, biology, education, business management, healthcare management, criminal justice and recreation/leisure studies. UMO offers three master-level programs: Master of Business Administration, Master of Education, and Master of Nursing.

The total fall 2017 enrollment for all locations and online is approximately 3,500 students (2,309 FTE).  The number of traditional undergraduate students enrolled at the main Mount Olive campus is 1,060.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

An advanced degree in the candidate’s field is required, with a significant track record of leadership in higher education.
