Job Description Summary
The Learning Lab was established in 2001 and has partnered with dozens of Wharton faculty members to create more than 30 interactive simulations utilized at Wharton and beyond. These simulations provide a risk-free environment for students to apply classroom theories to real-life scenarios and internalize the results of complex decisions. The Simulation Delivery Expert will work under the direction of the Sr. Operations Manager to collaborate on the planning and delivery of simulations at Wharton. As the Simulation Delivery Expert for Learning Lab, you will develop a complete understanding of how Learning Lab simulations function, from the technical aspects of the simulation itself to how professors implement our simulations in their classroom.

Facilitating a positive simulation experience for students and faculty is the key objective of this position. The Simulation Delivery Expert will be on-site for all deliveries to assist faculty and students, preparing the classroom spaces and answering any technical questions about the simulation as needed. The Simulation Delivery Expert will work with various departments and support staff to coordinate classroom (or remote) deliveries. Training will be provided on simulation technology, campus technology, and how to coordinate on-site or remote deliveries. The Simulation Delivery Expert will work closely with the Sr. Operations Manager to find solutions to any complex problems or questions as they arise.

Day to Day Requirements of the Simulation Delivery Expert:
-100% on-campus position at Wharton's Philadelphia campus
-Must be available for scheduled simulation deliveries. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday, but occasional weekend simulation deliveries are required throughout the year.
-Must be able to lift up to 25lbs, transporting simulation materials as needed
-Must be comfortable using technology

Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Punctuality and professionalism
  • An Inquisitive mind, especially when it comes to learning and technology
  • Ability to think on your feet and problem solve when unexpected complications arise
  • Confidence to ask for help or input when needed
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups of students in the classroom, and working one-on-one with faculty members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate with the Learning Lab team and Wharton Computing colleagues
  • Comfortable using Excel and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • No prior experience playing simulations is expected

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in coordinating events, teaching, or managing projects of any scale
  • Prior experience in higher education a plus
  • Experience writing documentation, technical documentation a plus
  • Experience with Asana, Jira, or other Project Management software
  • Experience with Canvas or other Learning Management systems
  • Experience with WordPress or other Content Management systems

Expected Hiring Range:

$50,684 to $65,000 based on experience and qualifications
