Assistant Professor- Organizational Communication

The Department of Communication at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking to hire a faculty member (assistant professor) with a research and teaching emphasis in Organizational and/or Corporate Communication, effective September 1st, 2018.  Applicants should be able to teach undergraduate & graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: organizational communication, organizational leadership, leadership theory in communication, intercultural/international issues in organizational communication, communication and conflict, public relations, strategic communication, corporate communication, business communication.  A preference will be given to the candidate who could also work with the UTEP speech and debate team and forensics program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must have a record of scholarly publication.  The potential to attract external funding is also desired. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Communication or a related field (with a research concentration in Organizational Communication or Strategic Communication). Professional experience in advertising or strategic communication is desirable, but not required.
