Lecturer in Discipline/Senior Lecturer in Discipline of Construction Administration MS Program
The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Columbia University invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline or Senior Lecturer in Discipline to teach in the Construction Administration MS Program. This position will begin on July 1, 2018. This is a full-time appointment with multi-year renewal contingent on successful review.
The successful candidate will teach courses related to construction administration in one or more of the following areas: cost estimating and project financing, construction techniques, human and material resources, construction law, conflict resolution and environmental safety and conservation.
The successful candidate may be asked to serve in an administrative capacity for the MS program. Responsibilities include leading programmatic and curricular development efforts, professional development opportunities for students, and strategic planning for the program, such as marketing, enrollment, student life, and alumni affairs.
The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree in business, finance, real estate, architecture, engineering or other areas related to construction management and exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, instructional design, and professional practice and/or scholarship.
Candidates at the rank of Senior Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have substantial experience and accomplishments, and a superlative record of teaching as a lecturer, and documented evidence of excellence in carrying out administrative or other department responsibilities.
Candidates at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have teaching experience, documented evidence of excellence, and evidence of professional growth and activity in the given field.
