Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Director of the Library Research Annex (LIBRA), the LIBRA intern will play an integral role in coordinating the process of providing access to unprocessed and hidden collections stored at the Library Research Annex (LIBRA).

Job Description

We are looking for an energetic and organized MLIS student to take the lead in organizing these projects.

20hrs/week; one year

LOCATION: University of Pennsylvania Libraries, Library Research Annex, West Deptford, NJ

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Document the scope of the project and write a project plan
  • Create and establish a workflow for processing the collection, including the creation of templates to streamline work
  • Write procedure documentation
  • Establish a method for capturing metrics
  • Coordinate with the Director on implementation
  • Serve as a resource for staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • Current Graduate student in a program accredited by the American Library Association
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, proven problem solving ability
  • Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

Preferred
  • Knowledge of Project Management practices
  • Familiarity with bibliographic cataloging practices
