The Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure track position in International Politics at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 2018. The position is located at Fordham’s Rose Hill (Bronx) campus.

We are particularly interested in candidates who possess research and teaching expertise in the areas of international security, U.S. foreign policy, and international diplomacy. Alternatively, the candidate may specialize in international organizations, law, and cooperation. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate curricular needs in political science and the Master’s Program in International Political Economy and Development. Additional expertise in a particular region of the world, including East or South Asia, Africa, or Europe would be welcome. We seek candidates whose work is theoretically sophisticated and methodologically rigorous.

We invite candidates with an ability to make a positive contribution to the department’s climate fostering inclusiveness and diversity. We believe that cultural and intellectual pluralism is essential to the excellence of our academic programs, and we strive to foster an academic culture and campus community that attracts and supports the development of a diverse faculty reflecting the global environment in which we live and work.  As our student body grows increasingly diverse, experience and commitment to teaching and mentoring students from a range of economic, social, and cultural backgrounds is preferred and welcomed.

Review of applications will begin on October 25. Interested applicants must submit the following documents in electronic format (PDF or Microsoft Word) to Professor José Alemán, Committee Chair, via Interfolio, at http://apply.interfolio.com/45328: cover letter, curriculum vitae, writing sample, course syllabi, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of reference. Ph.D. at the time of appointment is required.

Fordham is an independent, Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition that welcomes applications from all backgrounds.  Fordham is an equal opportunity employer.
