Rutgers University–New Brunswick invites applications/nominations for the position of Dean of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy (the Bloustein School).

As chief academic and administrative officer, the Dean provides leadership and vision for the School, implementing and advancing its mission, managing resources, and furthering external relations and fundraising.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a terminal degree in a relevant field, and a record of accomplishments warranting appointment at the professorial rank within Bloustein; have the administrative experience to lead an interdisciplinary school within a large, complex university; be committed to the array of interdisciplinary professional scholarship, education, and service offered by Bloustein; be experienced in budget and fiscal management, particularly in an RCM environment; have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and overall enhancement of the student experience; demonstrate support for the highest standards of research and scholarship; have a commitment to public engagement; be capable of articulating and building consensus around a strategic vision; be committed to the recruitment/retention of a diverse group of faculty and students and to diversity across Rutgers–New Brunswick; and have a proven track record in fundraising and alumni relations and a demonstrated ability to work with faculty, students, staff, and external constituents.

Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The search is expected to conclude in December 2017, with announcement of the appointment expected early in 2018; the start date is negotiable.
