The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications for a tenure-track, open rank professor in School Psychology beginning September 2018. The School Psychology program is an Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) program inclusive of the California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential in School Psychology. We are seeking energetic and innovative applicants in School Psychology to provide leadership in teaching, research and National Association of School Psychology (NASP) accreditation. Bi-lingual applicants and those with multi-cultural experience are strongly encouraged to apply. 

California State University, San Bernardino (a Hispanic serving Institution) is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire, 60 miles east of Los Angeles.  CSUSB offers programs through the colleges of Arts and Letters, Business and Public Administration, Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences and operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley.  CSUSB serves approximately 20,700 students and offers 47 undergraduate, 35 graduate and one doctoral degree as well as 13 programs with national accreditation.

Typical Activities

Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in the evenings, practicum and fieldwork supervision, scholarly activity, curriculum development, and service to the department, college, university and community. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be required to teach a range of courses in  counseling and school psychology.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications for the position include: a doctoral degree in school psychology or a closely related discipline by time of appointment.  Doctoral students graduating by August 31, 2018 will be considered; successful experience in higher education teaching; experience in school psychology; experience in service learning and student fieldwork supervision.

Supplemental Information

Candidates with a California PPS credential and/or eligibility for the California PPS credential in School Psychology will be preferred. Evidence of scholarly activity and innovation in teaching is valued, as is a demonstrated commitment to social justice and diversity issues.
