The Department of Information and Decision Sciences (IDS} within the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration (JHBC) invites diverse group of applicants for a tenure-track position to begin fall 2018. Open Rank. subject to funding.

Candidates must have knowledge, skill and interest in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in information systems and technology in a business setting specializing in cybersecurity, networking, programming, information analytics, data mining and/or system analysis & design (preferably in a business school environment). Candidates familiar with the NSA/DHS Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense and the NIST NICE Workforce Frameworks are preferred. Additional skills in digital forensics, cyber security policy, and pen-testing are a plus. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security + are also desired. Candidates with research background or work experience in all aspects of cybersecurity will be considered. Industry work and experiences are a plus.

The Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration (JHBC), which is accredited by AACSB and NASPAA, consists of five academic departments: Accounting and finance, Information and Decision Science, Management, Marketing, and Public Administration

Typical Activities

The incumbent is expected to provide innovative and cutting-edge teaching at the undergraduate and master's level and evidence of strong publication record in Information Systems/Cybersecurity/lnformation Analytics and/or  a promising stream of research. It is also expected that the successful candidate will play an active role in maintaining and developing student engagement in the Information Systems/Cybersecurity/Business Analytics curriculum, advising,coaching and mentoring students, and serving on department, college,and university-wide committees. We are seeking candidates who have a passion for taking leadership roles in developing new innovation programs, promoting a research environment within the Department, and supporting University, JHBC, and IDS strategic goals, which include student success and partnerships with the community to enhance the social,economic, and cultural conditions of the region and beyond. Teaching at both San Bernardino and Palm Desert Campuses may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

(1) An earned doctorate in computer information systems,or a closely-related discipline with coursework and publications in computer information systems, Information Analytics, data mining, data management, cybersecurity or a related area conferred by the start date,(2) Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service to the university and to the profession, and (3) Strong commitment to quality of student learning and program excellence.
