The Department of Accounting and Finance within the College of Business and Public Administration seeks a diverse group of applicants to fill tenure-track position(s) in Accounting beginning September 2018.  OPEN Rank. The College is AACSB accredited and has five departments; Accounting and Finance, Information Decision Sciences, Marketing, Management, and Public Administration.  The Department of Accounting and Finance has more than 1,000 students in four undergraduate concentrations and two Master programs. The Department subscribes to CRSP, CompuStat and other software to support research.    

California State University, San Bernardino (a Hispanic serving Institution) is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire, 60 miles East from Los Angeles.  CSUSB offers programs through the colleges of Arts and Letters, Business and Public Administration, Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences and operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley.  We serve approximately 20,700 students and offer 47 undergraduate, 35 graduate and one doctoral degree as well as 13 programs with national accreditation.

Typical Activities

Candidates are expected to show excellence in teaching, scholarly research, and service. Candidates take leadership roles in developing new innovative programs, promoting a research environment within the Department and mentoring our students. Supporting the University's and Jack H Brown College's strategic plans, which include partnership with community to enhance the social, economic, and cultural conditions of the community and beyond, is highly regarded. Teaching at both San Bernardino and Palm Desert Campuses may be assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

ABD or Ph.D. in Accounting. At time of appointment the candidate must have a Ph.D. in Accounting or be academically qualified in Accounting according to AACSB standards.  Professional experience and/or CPA a plus.  All areas of Accounting will be considered.  Experience in a diverse cultural setting is also plus.
