Job Description Summary
The Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program is seeking a Project Manager for a NIH-funded multi-year study of remote physical activity monitoring in pulmonary hypertension. The candidate will oversee the Clinical Coordinating Center and be directly involved with strategic planning and policy development related to the goals of the project and is responsible for ensuring that the objectives are achieved.

will oversee all start-up activities including development of study documents (protocol, informed consent, CRFs), meeting materials, and presentations as well as design and maintain the study's manual of procedures. This position will develop relationships with internal and external project partners; consult with and provide guidance multiple external centers (including the Data Coordinating Center). He/she will be responsible for quality assurance and quality control, including training at sites (remote), ongoing monitoring of data, maintenance of staff certification at sites, and adherence to procedures. The individual will partner with the external Data Coordinating Center as well as the faculty investigators at recruiting sites throughout the United States. The candidate will oversee abstract and manuscript processes in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities also include serving as a liaison between the PI and the rest of the team (including the Steering Committee, other investigators, study staff, consultants, the single IRB, and the NIH), managing and monitoring operations and timelines, and working with the PI and grants manager to manage the grant budget.

A high level of independence, attention to detail, familiarity with study design and performance, and strong communication skills are expected.

Other duties as assigned.

Research Project Manager B:

All of the above duties will be performed with minimal supervision and require very limited training.

Research Project Manager C:

All of the duties listed above plus the following: With oversight from the Principal Investigator, the Project Manager will take a leadership role in maintaining the well-established program's research strategy and support junior faculty members in their research endeavors. He/she will assist with other research projects in the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program. He/she will assist with developing and submitting grant proposals to the NIH and other funders and lead subprojects, as needed.

Qualifications

Research Project Manager A - Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) and 3-5 years of clinical research experience

Research Project Manager B - Master's Degree and 3-5 years of clinical research experience

Research Project Manager C - Master's Degree and 5-7 years of clinical research experience

Experience with clinical research and managing large multicenter epidemiologic research studies preferred.

Previous experience drafting protocols, consents and related SOPs.

Effective problem solving abilities, communication and writing skills required.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-level tasks required.

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Applicant must be able to appropriately prioritize, manage time effectively and exercise mature judgment.

Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations essential.
