FACULTY POSITION IN COLLABORATIVE PIANO

The NAU Kitt School of Music seeks a dynamic, creative, collaborative, and dedicated educator to serve as Assistant Professor of Practice of Piano. The assignment includes preparing and performing with NAU music students in a variety of settings (degree recitals, semester juries, upper division exams, large ensembles) and in a variety of genres (instrumental, solo voice, choral, opera, musical theater); performing with NAU music faculty and guest artists in recital and chamber music settings; performing for departmental functions such as auditions and concerto competition; and, in consultation with Director of Piano Studies, coordinating the piano accompanying area for Kitt School of Music (including distribution of assignments for part-time staff pianists and student pianists.) Possible teaching duties include chamber music, applied piano and collaborative piano, depending on departmental needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in piano or collaborative piano, Experience collaborating with solo voice or choirs, Experience collaborating with instrumentalists

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in piano or collaborative piano, Experience as collaborative pianist in professional setting, Experience working synergistically with faculty, students, and staff, Demonstrated commitment to and/or success in working with diverse populations on campus and in
the community

SALARY: $52,000, 9-month contract.
