RESPONSIBILITIES:

The senior assistant director for diversity coordinates diversity outreach, recruitment, and yield initiatives for Undergraduate Admissions, with a focus on enrollment of students from historically disproportionately underrepresented backgrounds. As a member of the outreach and recruitment team, develops and implements on- and off-campus programming and events, and cultivates relationships to facilitate the development of enrollment pipelines of academically talented, diverse students for Ohio University’s undergraduate programs. Reporting to the director of recruitment and outreach, this position assists in the development of recruitment strategy and coordinates with admissions advisors, assistant directors, and associate directors to provide  subject matter expertise regarding recruitment efforts for diverse populations. Provides oversight for associated student organizations in Undergraduate Admissions. Serves as an operational liaison between Undergraduate Admissions and representatives from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Office for Multicultural Student Access and Retention, and recruitment and retention specialists in academic units to ensure alignment of recruitment and admissions processes serving students from disproportionately underrepresented backgrounds. Serves as an active member of the Undergraduate Admissions recruitment team, managing a territory and participating in admission review processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree required by start date. Minimum 3 years related work experience. Valid driver’s license   required. Ability to travel independently. Successful incumbents must pass background check, judiciary review, and regular driving record audits. Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations. Ability to understand and abide by the Statements and Principles of Good Practice of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
