PROVOST AND VICE PRESIDENT OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Lawrence Technological University (LTU) announces the continuation of a nationwide search to recruit a new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. This position is the chief academic officer of the University and is responsible for the effective administration of the institution’s academic programs.


Founded in 1932 as a private institution with the vision ‘to be recognized for transformative STEM and Design education that develops leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset and global perspective,’ Lawrence Tech today enrolls about 3,500 students, employs 600 faculty and staff, and has an annual operating budget of $70 million. LTU is located on a beautiful and modern campus in Southfield, Michigan.


Reporting directly to the President, the Provost has primary responsibility for a broad array of offices and services, including four Colleges, the Library, and over 100 academic programs and departments. In addition, the Provost office is responsible for Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, e-Learning services, and Corporate and Community Partnerships. The Provost and Provost's staff facilitate the operations of these and other offices and services to effectively support the academic mission of the University.


The successful candidate will possess a doctoral or terminal degree and will have demonstrated achievement in teaching and scholarship meriting appointment as a tenured professor in a discipline offered at the University. He or she will also have a proven record of leadership, collaboration, and higher education experience at the Dean, Associate Provost, Vice President or Provost level. The President and
Board are seeking an innovative Provost who will emphasize interdisciplinary research, develop new programs in the health sciences and will foster greater scholarship at all levels in the University.

The Search Committee seeks a proven scholar and accomplished administrator who values teaching and research and has a collegial and consensus-building leadership style. The selected individual will be student-centered, strategic and visionary, and will possess unquestioned integrity and exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
