Job Description Summary
This position is for a clinical research coordinator who will provide support and collect data for a complex study that compares three care conditions to determine which is most effective in helping people with opioid use disorders (OUD) and mental health conditions in a primary care setting. Specific duties include: 1) recruiting, screening and enrolling potential study participants as specified in the protocol and consent individuals who are eligible for the trial; 2) conducting baseline and follow-up interviews; 3) locating patients for follow-up evaluations, and coordinating patient study visits; and 4) preparing study materials, performing data entry, maintaining patient records, contact logs and data files, and preparing study related reports. They will assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. This individual will participate in study team meetings, project site group meetings, and ongoing protocol training/compliance meetings. They will work closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. They will implement and ensure protocol adherence to established guidelines and provide administrative support. The start date for this position would be June or July 2022.

Job Description

The clinical research coordinator (CRC) will provide support and collect data for a complex study that compares three care conditions to determine which is most effective in helping people with opioid use disorders (OUD) and mental health conditions in a primary care setting. The primary responsibilities for the CRC will include, but are not limited to:
  • Recruit patients with OUD and psychiatric disorders who are receiving treatment at Penn Medicine primary care clinics and other primary care clinics in the Philadelphia area.
  • Conduct baseline interviews including assessing for an OUD diagnosis, screen potential candidates to asses for eligibility, and consent those who are eligible for the trial.
  • Track participants for follow-up, conduct follow-up research interviews, manage the administration of surveys to providers to assess implementation of collaborative care, and handle participant payments.
  • Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, and preparing manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations.
  • Assist with coordinating, facilitating, and maintaining positive relationships with clinics.
  • Assist with preparing and updating reports demonstrating recruitment efforts.
  • Perform data entry, document research activities in electronic medical records, collect data from electronic medical records, and provide administrate support.

    The start date for this position would be June or July 2022.

    A Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Possess strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Effective problem solving abilities; effective communication and writing skills; strong organizational and time management skills; flexible and able to multi-task; demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. Experience or an interest in behavioral health is highly preferred. Position contingent upon funding
