The Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Life oversees and directs daily operations for the Office for Students, including strategic, operational, and financial operations as they relate to recruitment and enrollment of students into academic programs, financial aid, and student life. Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree preferred) with at least 10 years of Admissions, Financial Aid, and/or Student Services related experience - preferably graduate/professional admissions in a large academic and research focused university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in admissions, financial aid, and student services. Experience supervising and working collaboratively within teams and inspiring trust and confidence among staff. Excellent interpersonal, project, and presentation skills including verbal and written communication skills, strong strategic planning and operations management skills, and the ability to multi-task and synthesize data for evidence-based decision-making. A commitment to customer and student-focused service and experience recruiting students from diverse backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills as an advocate and champion for diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility, and an unwavering commitment to advancing these principles in every facet of the department's activities. Willingness to occasionally travel and work evenings/weekends required with an emphasis upon increasing the School's visibility and cultivating relationships with institutions serving underrepresented minority students.
