The University of Baltimore (UB) invites applications and nominations for its next Chief Financial Officer & Vice President for Administration and Finance. 

 

This transformative, collaborative leader directs UB’s finance and administrative functions including financial and technology services, capital improvement financial planning, annual budget development, procurement and auxiliary enterprises.  This skilled professional integrates vision, strategy and activities to move UB’s financial portfolio forward while engaging an entrepreneurial orientation and willingness to take considered risks and seize opportunities.

 

Reporting to the President, the VP/CFO ensures development of policies and procedures strengthening overall institutional effectiveness.  Serving on the Executive Team, this professional collaborates with University leadership implementing strategic plan priorities, enhancing success of academic, research and community programs and services by developing business systems improvement processes, economic impact, and UB’s fiscal focus.

 

The VP/CFO ensures that all federal, state, and Board regulations, laws, and policies are complied with including GASB, FASB, and GAAP requirements and procedures to sustain and improve fiscal controls that provide well being of taxpayer and donor resources.  Additionally, the incumbent ensures external audits are conducted in a timely and compliant manner.

 

The VP/CFO provides leadership for the administrative effectiveness and related data, research analysis, and process improvement functions, while developing and implementing procedures to create budget resiliency in accordance with USM and Board of Regents policies and procedures.  Leadership responsibilities include oversight and supervision of the Vice President/Chief Information Officer (CIO); Vice President, Facilities Management and Capital Planning; Associate Vice President, Finance; Assistant Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO); Chief, UB Police, and Director, Procurement.

 

Required qualifications include a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; 10 or more years successful, progressively responsible experience in the fiscal management, the majority of which is from higher education institutions; knowledge of trends in higher education financial management and funding models; 5 years of operations management experience; demonstrated skill in leading and inspiring change and innovation with a strong orientation toward collaboration, teamwork, transparency, accessibility, accountability and delegation.
