The School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland seeks to hire one tenure-track faculty member in economic policy at the rank of assistant professor, to start in the 2018-2019 academic year. Applicants should demonstrate the capacity to establish a research agenda that will lead to scholarly publications and the building of a record that will warrant promotion and tenure. We welcome applicants across a wide range of research areas within economic policy, including social policy (education, health, and labor policy); fiscal policy (tax and expenditure); international development; international trade; and economic aspects of security policy. We welcome candidates with policy-related experience. Successful candidates should be able to teach courses in the school’s undergraduate major in Public Policy, master's programs in public policy, public management, and public administration, and PhD program. Applicants who would enhance the diversity of the school, including women and minorities, are especially encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications: Those applying should have an earned doctorate (or expect to receive the doctorate by the end of the 2017-18 academic year) in economics, public policy, or another relevant field.
