Teaching Assistant Professor in Information Systems

Teaching responsibilities include multiple sections of undergraduate information systems courses in each of the fall and spring semesters. Participate in IS area, college and NAU service activities. Engage in a program of intellectual activities or professional development activities to maintain faculty qualification in accordance with FCB and AACSB guidelines. The applicant will be expected to teach multiple high-capacity introductory IS courses, with the possibility to teach higher level courses as needed. Duties will likely include coordination of the introductory IS course, including the identification and implementation of course content as well as coordinating other faculty teaching the course.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate degree from an accredited institution (AACSB or similar accreditation organization) with a concentration in information systems or a related field.
  • Either one year full-time teaching (or the equivalent number of part-time courses) at the college level or a minimum of 5 years professional experience in information systems.
  • Ability to meet AACSB academic or professional qualification requirements.  

.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching high-capacity course sections as documented by a pattern of strong teaching evaluations.
  • Ability to teach introductory level classes and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience configuring and implementing online content in learning management systems (Blackboard Learn or similar)
  • Experience configuring and implementing online teaching and learning platforms (Pearson MyLab IT or similar).
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting online learning simulations for Microsoft Office (Pearson MyLab IT or similar).
  • Desire to work with other faculty to create and implement innovative curricula and learning approaches.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple faculty members to assist with scheduling and staffing of course sections.
  • Experience and or willingness to teach online and/or blended format courses.
  • Evidence or potential for excellence in working with multicultural constituencies.
