ABOUT THE OFFICE OF THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR
The Office of the University Registrar models the highest standards of the registrar profession in providing exemplary service to the University community and constituents, while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of academic records. Technology plays a critical role in providing contemporary services to the University community. Collaborating closely with the Office of Information Technology and a host of vendor partners, the Registrar team designs innovative services and solutions for faculty, staff, advisors, and students. Examples of success include early implementation of preferred names and pronouns for students, a custom faculty and advising center, a new OHIO Guarantee+ Graduation Plan system, and tailored reports and integrations for multiple University constituents.
Directly supports the associate registrar for technology and communication in leading technology initiatives for the Office of the University Registrar. Collaborates with the Office of Information Technology to design and implement technology solutions for university constituent groups. Designs, implements, and supports a broad range of systems across multiple platforms to support business strategies. Works with registrar’s office leadership to continually review business processes and make recommendations for and implement process improvement. Leads project teams to implement upgrades and new solutions to support the University community. Act as the primary point of contact for staff within the registrar’s office about technology and system issues, and serve as the PeopleSoft functional lead for student records, curriculum management, and related modules.

Collaborate with the Office of Information Technology to design and implement technology solutions for university constituent groups of all sizes within and outside the registrar’s office. Will lead project teams and coordinate and facilitate requirements gathering and analysis, including development and implementation of functional specifications, integration documents, and testing scripts. Develops and executes comprehensive test plans. Utilize reporting tools to extract data from operational data systems to help with analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of non-routine production system problems. Ensure all systems are secure through extensive testing and integrations are compliant with security protocols.
Work with office leadership to continually review business processes and make recommendations for and implement process improvement, whether through technology solutions or process redesign, including an intentional focus on the student digital experience. Keep abreast of technology changes that may enhance services. Contribute to administrative leadership team to support critical needs of the office and academic community.
Act as the primary point of contact for staff within the registrar’s office about technology and system issues. Direct and support key registrar staff members in testing processes, customizations, and integrations that are related to their areas. This includes understanding detailed processes in the following broad areas: academic records and athletic eligibility; registration and course fees; curriculum management and scheduling; degree audit and advising support; curriculum analysis and degree planning, and veterans and military student services. Coordinate and perform testing of registrar-related software modules within the student information system and registrar-related software systems (i.e., custom developed and third party solutions) when new releases, patches, bundles, critical updates, modifications, or integrations are made.
Serve as the PeopleSoft functional lead for student records, curriculum management, and related modules, by staying abreast of the most current features and functionality in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Document changes made to registrar modules and disseminate information as appropriate to users. Document functional processes and modifications made to the student system. Work with registrar staff members to review the most current Campus Solutions enhancements and bug fixes for possible implementation, and maintain expertise in all configuration, processes, and data structure in relevant Campus Solutions modules.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree conferred by start date and at least 4 years of related work experience.
A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above education.
Must have technical acumen; understand complex systems and processes; understand higher education and specifically student/faculty support operations.
Master’s degree preferred.
Based on extensive benchmarking data, the target hiring range for this position is $68,299 – $80,252. The exact base salary for the selected candidate will be negotiable, commensurate with education and experience, and competitive in the field within the context of similarly situated positions at public universities nationally.
This position may have the option for hybrid or remote work options. Flexplace agreements will be determined upon hire.
