The VCU Department of Surgery is actively recruiting a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon for the Division of Vascular Surgery at VCU Medical Center and affiliated campuses. VCU Medical Center, an 865 bed quaternary teaching hospital is Central Virginia’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and Medical School, and one of the largest and busiest academic centers in the state.

 

We are seeking an Academically focused Vascular Surgeon with excellent clinical training and experience in both Open and Endovascular Surgery to join a well-established 3 surgeon University practice. The VCU Vascular Division performs all aspects of Vascular Surgery, including Fenestrated Aortic Endografting, Open Thoracoabdominal Aneurysm Repair, and Complex Thoracic Endografting. As part of VCU’s Pauley Heart and Vascular Center, the Vascular Division has been a regional leader in minimally invasive Vascular Surgery including carotid stenting, lower extremity arterial reconstruction, and novel investigational techniques for the treatment of lower extremity arterial insufficiency.

 

The Division aims to transform from Regional to a National Leadership in the field of vascular surgery and to continue to train the best of the next generation of Vascular Surgeons. The Division is associated with both a well-established and fully Accredited Independent Vascular Surgery Fellowship and Surgical Residency. A candidate with an active interest both Teaching and Clinical Research is vital.

 

Richmond and surrounding towns in Central Virginia include a population of 1.5 million and is the seat of the government of State of Virginia. It has a growing economy and excellent public schools to go with mild winters and easy access to many exciting destinations including Washington DC, Virginia Beach, Outer Banks- NC and Shenandoah National Park.
