Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services

The University of Alaska Anchorage invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services. The position reports to the Chancellor and has a start date of January 2018.

The eight academic units on the Anchorage campus are the colleges of Education, Health, Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Policy, and Engineering; the Community and Technical College; the Honors College; and the Graduate School. The campus also has an award-winning library that serves both UAA and the neighboring private Alaska Pacific University. UAA is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. In addition, many of UAA’s colleges and academic programs are externally accredited by national organizations that set the educational standards for the profession.

ABOUT THE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

The Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services reports to the Chancellor, and oversees the Division of Administrative Services, consisting of eight organizational departments: Athletics, Budget, Business Services, Facilities and Campus Services, Financial Services, Human Resource Services, Information Technology, and the University Police. The division has more than 270 staff members, and a 2017/18 budget of over $68 million.

Under the general direction of the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services is the institution’s chief administrative and financial officer. The Vice Chancellor is responsible for long range fiscal and budget planning which includes operating and capital budgets, debt management, auxiliary operations and overall financial and facilities oversight of all UAA campuses. The Vice Chancellor participates as a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet and senior executive team, and must be able to work collaboratively with faculty, deans and administrators.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in business, administration, or a related field
• A record of progressively responsible leadership positions
