Assistant Professor in Counseling-Student Affairs, Educational Psychology - #603272
Northern Arizona University’s Department of Educational Psychology (EPS) is seeking to fill an Assistant Professor in Counseling – Student Affairs position at our Flagstaff Mountain campus beginning in August 2018. The position is a 9-month tenure-track faculty line. This position also has the opportunity for summer course teaching. The successful candidates will: (1) Teach graduate classes for the EPS programs, focusing on the Student Affairs program; possible course assignments include, but are not limited to: student services in higher education; the impact of college on students; college student development theory; vocational counseling and career development; multicultural counseling; campus crisis, ethics, and legal issues in student affairs; professional competencies in student affairs leadership; fieldwork, practicum, and internship (2) Teach in-person, with some blended or online courses to students in Flagstaff and to extended campus sites (3) Maintain an active independent and collaborative research agenda (4) Prepare and manage external grant proposals/programs (5) Supervise graduate student research (6) Recruit and Advise MEd Counseling – Student Affairs students (7) Fulfill service responsibilities to the department, college, and the profession (8) Work collaboratively with university departments to coordinate admissions, assistantship, fieldwork, practicum, and internship experiences for student affairs students.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in Student Affairs, or closely related field, by date of hire, college teaching experience (can include college teaching as a graduate assistant); research experience (can include research assistant).
Annual Salary: $55,000 - $60,000
