Assistant Professor of Criminology/Sociology

Manhattan College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track assistant professor of sociology to teach undergraduate courses in criminology and sociology. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in sociology or criminology by the time of employment. Areas of specialization should include one or more of the following: critical criminology; sociology of law; transnational crime; gender and crime; race and crime; deviance; youth gangs; sexual crimes; critical police studies; and white-collar crime. Demonstrable excellence in teaching is paramount and prior experience in teaching quantitative methods is strongly preferred. We are especially interested in individuals capable of fostering critical thinking who are sensitive to Manhattan College’s commitment to social justice and service to the community.
