Job Description Summary
The SAS Online Learning Team works broadly with department and faculty within the Penn School of Arts & Sciences and across the University to support the design, development, assessment, and refinement of online and hybrid learning experiences and opportunities as outlined on our website at onlinelearning.sas.upenn.edu.

Temporary Part-Time position for an experienced video professional to direct and create high quality video productions in support of online and hybrid educational programs. Prior experience with use and operations of a variety of cameras, audio, and lighting equipment in different settings such as studio, classroom, green screen, and on-location. Advanced user of software products, tools, and apps to quickly and efficiently edit and produce final video for courses. Work closely with faculty & clients in order to bring out the best talent for video appearances. Experience managing complete video projects and use of production.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct & produce video/digital learning objects by providing exceptional service and coaching to clients, faculty, talent, and visitors to the online learning studio. Work with clients & team members to recommend ideas that enhance the creative vision for projects. Manage complex video projects from pre-production through post-production.

Operate cameras, lenses, microphones, and lighting equipment, as well as additional studio equipment needed for the making of learning objects. Edit and create final productions using computers and various software applications, external resources, musicians, vendors, or contractors.

Ensure that established studio processes and high-quality production standards are followed to achieve desired results and deadlines, within budget. Serve as technical backup director for live virtual information sessions or other audio, visual, broadcasting or streaming needs.

Remain up-to-date in the field of digital media, especially related to educational uses of new multimedia technologies. Participate in conferences and knowledge development in the field.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable work-related experience
  • Experience with software products Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • 1-3 years of related professional experience with video production, editing, motion graphics, and creative design
  • Experience operating cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment associated with a studio
  • Creative design and vision for translating educational programs into video segments
  • Technical proficiency in computer hardware and software associated with video production
  • Strong skills in exceptional customer/client support and coaching
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team


Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of related professional experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service orientation
  • Experience working in higher ed or educational film-making.
