Rush University Medical Center invites applications for the position of Dean of the Graduate College of Rush University. This senior leadership position will report directly to the University Provost. The Graduate College is one of four colleges at Rush, including the Rush Medical College, the Rush University College of Nursing and the College of Health Sciences. Rush is the highest ranked university under 50 years old.

With more than 200 students enrolled, the Graduate College is the University’s academic home for the education of biomedical researchers. Current programs include MS degrees in clinical research and biomedical technology; PhD programs in nursing and health care sciences; and an interdisciplinary MS- and PhD-level Integrated Biomedical Sciences (IBS) program with competitive stipends for PhD students.

In addition to biomedical research (which most of our external funding exists), Rush University also has ongoing research in community based research; participatory action research; analytic research in ethics; translational research and clinical and applied research.

The Graduate College is organized into 5 divisions that overlap basic science departments within Rush Medical College, and all Graduate College faculty have primary appointments in one of the other three colleges. All research activities are strategically aligned with Rush University and the Rush System.

Qualifications: As head of the Graduate College, the Dean must have experience as both an academic and operational leader. The successful candidate will demonstrate accomplishment as a funded investigator and be eligible for senior faculty rank at Rush University. PhD strongly preferred. A background of employment in a university setting, preferably an academic medical center, and previous administrative experience are highly desirable.

Interested candidates should submit a Curriculum Vitae and brief cover letter by e-mail to Courtney Kammer at courtney_kammer@rush.edu.

Rush University Medical Center is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
