Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution invites applications for the Division Chief of Urology in the Department of Surgery. The Department has a long tradition of excellence and expertise in many clinical domains. The Division of Urology provides the highest quality of care for urological diseases and offers all new urologic technologies. Physicians in the program are experienced in the latest approaches in the field, including laparoscopic surgery and other minimally invasive techniques. The Urology Residency program is a fully accredited five-year training program in the top 50 ranked Urology residency programs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to clinical service, teaching and mentoring surgical trainees and medical students, research achievement and is a creative leader with a strong record of collaborative leadership and commitment to academic excellence and community engagement. The successful candidate will have an established reputation in Urology and demonstrated experience in leading implementation of a vision through innovation and accountability. In addition, they will have credentials that merit appointment as Associate Professor or Professor, have an MD or equivalent degree, American Board Certification in Urology, possess a demonstrated commitment to innovation, and have the leadership skills necessary for guiding faculty development and advancement across research, clinical and academic missions. As a division leader, the Chief will provide an energetic and inventive vision for growing clinical volume and improving clinical productivity. The Chief will also work to facilitate collaborative work between a multidisciplinary group of physicians to grow and improve existing spheres of clinical care and develop new ones.
Rush Medical College was established in 1837 and is one of the oldest medical colleges in the United States. Rush University Medical Center is one of the largest private academic medical centers in Illinois, with completion of the most comprehensive construction and facilities renovation program in its history.
