Assistant Professor of Political Science (comparative politics)

The Political Science Department at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall semester 2018. High scholarly promise and demonstrable excellence in teaching are essential.  Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. The Department seeks candidates specializing in Comparative Politics with expertise in Russian politics and the former Soviet bloc. Candidates from all substantive areas will be considered; the Department is particularly interested in applicants whose research focuses on any of the following: nationalism and ethnic conflict, civil society, constitutionalism, authoritarianism and hybrid regimes, energy, and environmental politics.

 

Teaching includes a mix of introductory and upper-level courses to satisfy a five-course annual load. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
