Founding Dean of Health Professions

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania seeks an innovative and visionary individual committed to promoting and fostering excellence in teaching, research, and professional practice to serve as its Founding Dean of the College of Health Professions. This is an opportunity for a creative academic leader within health sciences to lead the newly created university and its faculty, guiding the college to its next level as a leader in health professions education. Reporting to the Provost, the new Dean is expected to be a key contributor in the implementation of the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania's strategic plan and vision.

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania seeks a Dean with high academic standards, a demonstrated commitment to diversity, and an ability to serve as a strong advocate for the College, advancing its reputation and visibility locally, nationally, and internationally. The Founding Dean must be able to foster collaborative partnerships with other colleges within the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, other programs of health professions, other institutions of higher education, and health care organizations.

The Founding Dean will be housed at the Lock Haven (LH) campus and articulate a vision and corresponding plan that will result in the College being recognized nationally as a leader in the preparation of superior providers of health care. It is important that the new Dean be an active, engaged partner with the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania's senior leadership team and fellow Deans as they explore and implement strategies that strengthen the College’s mission and ability to serve students. The Dean will foster excellence in teaching, research, and service to the College of Health Professions, community, and respective professions, and provide leadership in promoting diversity through the pursuit of stated goals for students, staff, and faculty across Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, LH Clearfield, and Mansfield campuses.
