Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs

Northern Kentucky University (NKU) seeks a dynamic academic leader committed to the development and success of undergraduate students to serve as the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs (VPUAA). The next vice provost will join NKU at an exciting moment in its history, as the university's evolution is measured by its visionary leadership, reaffirmed commitment to globally comprehensive undergraduate and graduate education, and the launch of a revolutionary Health Innovation Center (HIC) in 2018. The new vice provost will play an integral role in the academic leadership of the university and its efforts to enhance the undergraduate educational experience.

A growing regional university located near downtown Cincinnati, NKU is committed to instilling a passion in its students that will lead them to fulfilling careers, community engagement, and meaningful lives. This commitment has been a driving force as the university has expanded academic offerings and advanced new opportunities for experiential learning for its students. The NKU community can look back at the past decade with pride at the founding of two new colleges, the construction of several new buildings on campus, and a successful transition to Division I athletics.

The vice provost will report to the provost and partner closely with her as a member of her academic leadership team. The VPUAA is responsible for a broad portfolio that includes oversight for: program curriculum and assessment, accreditation facilitation, the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), program review, First Year Experience, the Norse Advising Center, Learning Plus (developmental and learning assistance programs), Adult Learners Programs and Services, the NKU Testing Services, and student concerns and undergraduate academic issues.

The vice provost will join NKU during a period of great activity and growth as she or he will serve as the steward of a broad and complex portfolio. She or he will collaborate with a range of undergraduate serving faculty, staff, and administrators in planning and implementing programs that enhance the academic life of a student, increase retention and persistence rates, lead to timely graduation, and advance the priorities of the university. She or he is responsible for implementing initiatives related to the Enrollment and Student Success Implementation Plan (ESSIP) and the Academic Innovation Implementation Plan, both action plans of the university's strategic plan.
